After consultation with Keiichi-san and a few others, Extreme Anime Radio today (June 21, 2011) announces the shutdown of the narrowband, 24k monaural stream. Since a majority of playback devices (computers, phones, etc) now support the AAC+ standard, we no longer find it necessary to maintain the other 24k stream. Our station page on Loudcity has been updated to reflect the change.

The 24k AAC+ stream has a maximum of 100 listener slots, which at the moment is more than enough to support our listeners who choose to use it. If you are a Silver member of the Enhanced Listener Service, you will continue to enjoy unlimited access to this AAC+ stream, and of course request more music compared to normal listeners... up to TEN TIMES PER DAY! Of course, the higher quality 64k MP3 and 128k MP3 streams are still available for your listening pleasure.

Note that the website ( currently shows incorrect information regarding server status: The website shows that the 24k AAC+ stream is offline, when in fact the 24k MP3 stream has been shut down. The stats that are currently shown for the 24K MP3 stream are, in fact, for the AAC+ stream. We hope to rectify this problem in due course.

Looking forward, we hope as early as the fall to move the radio station to its own, dedicated internet connection. This will hopefully prevent dropouts in the stream from occuring as a result of downloads from other computers in the shared network. We are, however, planning on another significant upgrade which we hope to have in place in the next few weeks.

Thank you for continuing to listen to, and support, YOUR Anime and J-Pop Radio Station!
